Bio

Hey I’m Nick Ray, and I help Golf Coaches who are struggling to monetise their email list. Through email copy I can help foster a robust brand-customer relationship and enhance overall sales performance. I am an avid golfer myself, although my handicap of 28 says otherwise ;) Check out some of my testimonials and samples on here and if you’re ready, I’m looking to take on one more client this month who wants to book 5 more lessons per week. Email me at support@nickraycopy.com and let’s chat :)

Email 1: Why going to the driving range is costing you strokesToday I want to talk about why going to the driving range is costing you strokesLately, I have been working with a student of mine called JakeHe plays off a 15 handicap and used to hit the range 2-3 times a week. He'd hit a ton of balls every time...But wasn’t seeing ANY improvementSo I told Jake he had to stop going to the range and focus on just one thing for the next month; His puttingFor players who want to get better, the short game, especially putting, is what needs to be the focus of your gameBefore Jake started taking lessons, I had him play on a small par 3 course. It's great practice for players who need to work on their short game (If you're a golfer who struggles to lower their score, I suggest you play this kind of course often.)In 18 holes, 10 of them were 1 over par…In those 10 holes, he had four 3 putts…Those 10 holes alone cost him 14 strokes…See where I'm getting at here?14 strokes on a scorecard is a LOTSo If you're having trouble getting better, focus on your putting. It’s not that you should never go to the range. But you should definitely spend more time on the putting green.Do that, and you'll see big improvements (and lower scores…)If you are looking for some help just like Jake was, I've got a free putting drills PDF for youJust reply to this email with the word ‘PUTT’ and I'll get it sent over to youI'm off to meet Jake for our next lesson, which is, you guessed it, at the putting green. 😉Your Golf Coach,JonathanP.S For a limited time only I'm doing 2 lessons for the price of 1. Click here to book yourself in and let's get you lower scores, one putt at a time

Email 2: Subject: How to Score in the Mid-80sHey (name), ready to consistently hit scores in the mid-80s?The key is smart course management.Like opting to lay up short of the green for a strategic advantage…Mastering the bump and run…Or ensuring you always land on the green after a missed approach shot.Skip those tricky, low-percentage flop shots - just aim to get on the green the simplest way you canI recently had the awesome experience of caddying for one of my students in the Special Olympics 9-hole event. We'd been honing his course management skills for two months prior. Before joining my coaching, he was hitting high 90s, despite having a great swing. He just couldn't pinpoint his mistakesBut with some small adjustments and a strong focus on course management, he shot an impressive 84 in the tournament!Shooting in the mid-80s isn't as tough as it seems. Many amateurs overlook course management and spend too much time on swing perfection, which often doesn't need much tweaking. So if you're nodding your head right now (and since you're reading this email, I bet you are), I have something exciting for you.I'm hosting a free course management workshop next month. Spots are limited, so make sure to register here to claim yours.Right now, I'm off to the range with another student to work on those crucial 50 yards and under shots. Can't wait to see you at the workshopCheers,

Email 3: Subject: Break 90 in less then 6 monthsAh the feeling…Shooting under 90For newer golfers this can seem like a big challengeBut remember…Only about 1 in 4 golfers ever do it.Yet, it's not as hard as it seems.Six months ago, Callum much like you, was grappling with his golf game…He loved the sport but found himself stuck, unable to crack 90…That’s when he took a leap of faith and joined our program.Fast forward to today, Callum's breaking 90 consistently showing us that with good advice and a bit of hard work, the impossible becomes possible. His journey wasn't about magic tricks or secret techniques; it was about consistent effort and a newfound belief in his abilities. Now, picture this for yourselfThe crisp morning air, the perfect swing, and the ball landing just where you intended – all leading to that moment when you look at your scorecard and realize you've done it…You've broken 90!I want this to be more then just a dream for youI want it to be more then just a goalBecause let's be real. This isn't about Callum or me; it's about you. It's about that burning desire to step up your gameSo if your WILLING to put in consistent practice…Dedication…And your ready to join a tribe of golfers all aiming for that same dream…Then enroll in our 1 on 1 coaching programThe course is callingAnd im waiting for you just on the other sideYour coach and supporter,

Testimonials

Working with Nick, I learned two things about him:
1. He has a talent for writing copy
2. He takes pride in his work
In his writing, he was able point out the pain points many aspiring music artists go through. Whether it's their feeling of being stuck in a cycle or the feeling of wanting to quit, he is able to encourage the reader to keep going.Apart from being a great writer he was also easy to work with and very professional. I'm confident that my future projects are in good hands with Nick.If you're looking for a professional copywriter who overdelivers and takes pride in their work, I recommend working with Nick.- Juan Gonzalez

I have worked with many other copywriters in the past, but Nick has been second to none! He was really easy to work with and always knows how to put into words what's in my head.Another good thing about Nick is that he always delivers all the work ahead of time and you get something extra on top of that. His way of writing copy is really unique and maybe a bit unusual, but oh boy, does it pay off!I can only highly recommend Nick to anyone who needs a copywriter who knows his stuff! If I ever need a copywriter for a new project in the future, I will definitely hire Nick to do it 😊- Markus Kallonen

Nick’s emails are clear in the the way they deliberately reach out to a community with a message that resonates on a personal level.Nick is able to tap into the common insecurities and doubts that plague many in the creative process. By acknowledging these feelings openly, he hit the goal to create a space of understanding and empathy, a precursor to introducing the transformative potential of our courses. This approach—combining empathy with actionable solutions— strikes a chord with our audience and will increase engagement with our platform. What made Nick’s emails particularly impactful are his strategic use of relatability and aspirational testimonials. By invoking the struggles of now-successful artists who once faced similar challenges. The inclusion of a powerful testimonial served as a tangible example of the transformation we promise, making the aspirational attainable.I highly recommend Nick’s work- Murray Alexander
